Rhodes Apartments takes its name from local explorer and pioneer Henry Rhodes. The development is located less than 1km from Tingalpa Creek, where from 1867, a horse drawn mail coach used to cross the ford at The Rocks. Henry Rhodes supplied the fledgling Capalaba colony with badly-needed produce. Sadly he died while trying to cross the flooded creek in 1865. To honour Henry's pioneering spirit, Rhodes is named in his memory.
